TONI: My Tzimisce deck has not many ways to gain pool. Having the Powerbase: Montreal from the beginning is a good sign for the game.
Comment regarding my position at the table: I had the worse table seat. My deck is not effective against weenie combat decks (like Tom's). I foresee all my vampires will enter torpor and Tom's horde will run over me. It is obvious that choosing to be the prey of the Baltimore Purge deck (from now on, "lo Purgant" -The Purger), would have been a bad thing but, at least, I could have cycled my intercept cards until I was able to attack Stanislava, torporize her and diablerize her with the approval of the rest of the table.
It would have been better for me to seat before a vote deck (I could intercept him and kill his vampires to cycle my hand). I do not think I can win the game without my natural ally's help, i.e., Tom's predator: Rafel.

TONI: WHAT? "Lo Purgant" is bothering me?. I cannot understand the reason behind this move. Neither his predator nor his prey have any vampires yet. Why does he not bleed Rafel instead of disturbing me?. It is unbelievable. At least, I now have another goal. So far, my goal was to survive and die with honour against Tom's vampires. Now "Lo Purgant" will know that it is not a good idea to disturb the Tzimisce. "Infidel rapers, you will now know why do they fear night, they will now know why they fear darkness."

TONI: It is difficult to transcribe the whole conversation "Lo Purgant" and I had, but he basically proposed that we ended our war. The problem was that he did not apologized for his unjustified action; he did not want to compensate me for the "casus belli". If there is something that bothers me, it is that somebody sodomizes me and, besides, tells you that it has been your fault. I told him that we were in DEFCOM 1 (thanks, Tom, for the clarification), and that nuclear missiles were destroying his cities, and that our personal war only had two possible ends (either his destruction or mine). And, crying: "Tornarem a vèncer" (we will win again), I launched all my ammunition against him. At least, this part of the game was fun.

TONI: This turn is crucial to understand the rest of the game. My situation after the war was a difficult one (just 6 pool left, and two vampires), and, behind me, Tom's horde. The only solution was to make a deal with Tom's predator so that he could oust him, after which there would be some turns of peace between him and me. In exchange, Rafel told me to put pressure on Tom (something I will gladly do). While we were discussing the terms of our deal, Iñaki, realizing he would be out of the game (both constantly blocked and without the vote lock), tried to deal with me by offering me the game win (he would oust Rafel, and then he would let me oust him, giving me 2 victory points). Once I considered both deals, I reached the following agreement with Rafel: he would kill Tom, wait for me to oust Iñaki and perform no aggressive actions against me meanwhile, and then fight for victory. This was the best agreement, since Iñaki could not offer me killing Tom (who would have probably ousted me on that turn), and he really did not offer me the game win, just a 2 VPs draw. In addition, my deal with Rafel did not mention anything about the end game. None of us had to commit "sepuku" (commonly known as "harakiri"). We will se who the best is.

My idea was to oust Iñaki soon and then get rid of Rafel. This meant that I could fight for the game win. It was a very good deal (proposed to an almost dead Tzimisce).

TONI: I don't remember these turns very well. I basically tried to oust Iñaki, but he hardly attempted things I could block. Since I could not play intercept cards, I was not drawing any aggravated-damage-dealing cards, and my combats sucked.

What I do remember is Iñaki bothering me saying that my deal was bad, and that he offered me more, and that I was losing the game, that I was a very noble samurai, etc. There were times in which I simply ignored him, others I considered letting Rafel oust me to fuck Iñaki, other times I thought of leaving the game, and once, I even considered slapping him :-) A few words about honour: I like the Japanese philosophy of Bushido, i.e., doing things in the right and honourable way. I do not always do things in this way, but I try to. On the other hand, making a deal with another player when you control two vampires, have 6 pool, and a horde of vampires behind in search of your blood and, once you have grown stronger thanks to your predator, betraying him to attempt to get a miserable victory point is more than a lack of honour; it is to be a nasty rat, a filthy worm, a sun-dried bullshit, a coprophagous looking for some food in the sewers.

If I liked making deals to break them later, I would play Maquiavelli instead of V:TES.

TONI: All these turns look pretty much like the former ones. No aggravated-damage-dealing cards in my hand to kill Iñaki; Rafel keeping our deal (thanks), and Iñaki bothering me telling me to break the deal. In the end I had to tell Rafel to do something against me so that I could cycle the intercept cards in my hand. When he did, I proved how a Tzimisce intercepts: an acting vampire at +4 stealth was blocked by one of my vampires, and, when a card makes that block fail, another vampire attempts to block and succeeds. I (who came to V:TES from the Vampire: The Masquerade RPG) always have images of these scenes. It is fun to imagine a Lasombra hiding in the shadows, in the crowds, doing his best to reach the warehouse, the bar, i.e., to the place where the Methuselah keeps part of his resources, only to find that there is a Tzimisce awaiting him in front of the door... and, when he manages to elude him, he finds another Tzimisce behind the door ready for combat.

TONI: I have read on the V:TES Hispania Yahoo group that somebody said that two inexperienced players got into the final. This is not entirely true. At least, one inexperienced player who does not own a single V:TES card got into the final and had a very good time.

I got into the final because of others' mistakes (a Gangrel who did not know that if he played a Psyche after a Rötschreck, this master card had no effect; a predator that did not bleed me as much as he could; an Italian player that played a Kindred Restructure and chose the worse seat at the table), because of others' lack of luck (a bloat deck not drawing a single Toreador Grand Ball and low of blood pool; lack of intercept when I attempted the final bleed; having the right card in the right moment -a Blood of Acid when a Gangrel had played an Immortal Grapple and was going to strike for lots; a Canine Horde against a guy bearing a Flamethrower; and knowing what the cards do.)

I guess that both luck, others' mistakes, their lack of luck, the ability to bargain, and the fact that there is no ultimate deck makes V:TES very interesting and open, and not a monotonous and boring game like Magic: The Gathering. If somebody has felt offended for my presence in the final, I apologize for existing and I hope him or her to be in the final too.

Personal feelings of rancor did not exist either before or during the game. I attacked "Lo Purgant" because he had unjustifiably stolen a vampire from me before, and since, thus, the game was more interesting than waiting Tom's horde to crush me. Once the game was over, there are still hard feelings: Carles ("Lo Purgant") and I don't talk to each other, and I think Iñaki still feels a little bit resentful about what happened.
