Seating order and starting player:
IÑAKI => TOM => DAVID FRAILE => XAVIER ABAD => XAVIER BIBILONI
TOM: Well, before making any comment about the game itself, I think will be interesting for me to tell something about the seating order. 3 out of 5 decks were able to do cross-table actions. The other 2 decks could be extremely hostile against their respective preys. Since my deck was one of the later, I chose not to draw too much attention until: a) everybody made moves against Xavier Abad, or b) a player were ousted. We all knew each others' decks, what they could do and how they won. The seating order choosing process was funny. Everyone fled from me but David, who was playing a deck with 5th Traditions and Voter Captivations.
XAVI BIBILONI: My position was not an easy one, but it could have been worse (Tom). I thought I could stand up against Xavier Abad, but I wasn't sure I could oust Iñaki.
XAVIER ABAD: The truth is that the decks that reached the final round were very competitive. Regarding seating order, I was glad that Tom was far away from me, since I would be save from his electric storms.
First TurnIÑAKI (30)
Storage Annex (Hostile Takeover)
Democritus +1
IÑAKI: This is something to be carefully kept, waiting for the right moment ;-)
TOM (30)
Magdalena Shaefer +2; enters play
TOM: Both my start and my starting hand weren't too bad: 2 Societies of Leopold, 1 Laptop Computer, a few Cryptic Missions and Seeds of Corruption. I was very lucky, since I brought out Magdalena, one of my 2 vampires with a capacity of 2, and the rest of vampires in my uncontrolled region were Hannigan, Muaziz and Sarah Cobbler. It was a pity the Merril Molitor or any other vampire did not come instead of Muaziz. Muaziz draws too much attention, and I am sure she'll be targeted by a Temptation of Greater Power or Hostile Takeover. Playing those cards to any other of my vampires would be just a joke.
IÑAKI: Knowing Tom's deck, I was not surprised about the speed at which he was bringing vampires out. Damn wizards!
DAVID FRAILE (30)
Creepshow Casino
Anneke +3
TOM: Great, my prey would play 5th Traditions at +2 stealth :-(
XAVIER ABAD: I think David is going to need the Creepshow Casino very often.
XAVIER ABAD (30)
Anarch Troublemaker
Remilliard +4; enters play
IÑAKI: That Anarch Troublemaker will make my prey be careful.
XAVIER ABAD: A good start, with Remilliard I will be able to take actions without having to worry too much about mi predator.
XAVIER BIBILONI (30)
Wilhelm Waldburg +3
Second TurnIÑAKI (29)
Dreams of the Sphinx
uses Dreams of the Sphinx Democritus
Anson +4
IÑAKI: It's very important for me to have Anson in play, he's the core of my deck, since I had none of my 7 Parthenon in my hand.
TOM (28)
Magdalena Shaefer attempts to bleed
Sarah Cobbler +4; enters play
TOM: I bled, instead of equipping, to see if I could enjoy the edge during a couple of turns.
XAVIER ABAD: The Tremere parade begins, I hope David can stand up against them..
DAVID FRAILE (24)
Anneke +4XAVIER ABAD (26)
Remilliard Entrancement at inferior
Greta Kircher +3
XAVIER ABAD: Let's going to put pressure on Xavi Bibiloni, although if he gets nervous, I'll become target of his votes.
TOM: Good. One less Entrancement, just in case I bring out Thadius or Nephandi
Angela Preston +1XAVIER BIBILONI (27)
Wilhelm Waldburg +1
Emerson Bridges +3
Third TurnIÑAKI (24)
Parthenon, uses Parthenon
Millicent Smith: Puritane Vampire Hunter
IÑAKI: At last, one Parthenon. This makes things easier.
Anson +4; enters play
XAVIER ABAD: Iñaki likes slowing games down.
TOM: There she is! The hunter waking around. Fortunately, Iñaki had a defensive start. The fact of having put Anson in play instead of Democritus meant that he wanted to take things nice and easy for a while, and gain pool. That's good. I will play Societies of Leopold once he Minion Taps any of his vampires. This way, I will force him to play Gonconda on the affected vampire. It's great to have a blood wall behind me :-)
TOM (24)
Blood Doll Sarah Cobbler; -1b
Magdalena Shaefer Laptop Computer
Sarah Cobbler attempts to bleed
Hannigan +1
Muaziz +3
TOM: For the reasons mentioned above, I chose to spread my permanents as much as possible, in order to avoid important losses due to Temptations of Greater Power or Hostile Takeovers.
DAVID FRAILE (19)
Anneke +3; enters play
Timothy Crowley +1
XAVIER ABAD: And the first Justicar is out. Let's see if Tom keeps him busy.
XAVIER ABAD (22)

Greta Kircher +4; enters play
XAVIER ABAD: Let's keep bleeding, because I will not be able to take any actions during next turn.

XAVIER BIBILONI: My first vampire comes out at last.
XAVIER ABAD: Why did I chose to sit between two political decks?
IÑAKI: Without any vampires on the table and 4 less pool.
Fourth TurnIÑAKI (18)
uses Dreams of the Sphinx (hand size)
Minion Tap(6) Anson
uses Parthenon, Anarch Revolt
IÑAKI: I started to gain pool, something that would happen throughout the game. I played the Anarch Revolt too soon. I needed more Storage Annex
TOM: Ack! He has "discarded" an Anarch Revolt by putting it into play, well, at least he has played a Minion Tap on Anson, who is at 2 blood... I shall speed up things >:-)
XAVIER ABAD: It's going to be impossible for us to stop Iñaki, since he is starting to gain pool.

IÑAKI Direct Intervention
Magdalena Shaefer Seeds of Corruption at superior Anneke
TOM: He was very lucky to have a Direct Intervention. That was really good for me, since Iñaki realized I was not gona hesitate to burn his vampires if necessary, and I forced him to play Golcondas before it was too late for him. I started to put some pressure on my prey by playing a Seeds of Corruption.
IÑAKI: Things were getting worse. I had to burn my own Anson, sigh. Tom had his reasons. I already knew his deck. Blessed Direct Intervention on time. Although taking into account I have many of them in my library... :-)
XAVIER BIBILONI: What a pity. That would have helped me much.
XAVIER ABAD: Cool, it seems that Tom knows what he is doing, although Iñaki always has Goncondas available...

IÑAKI: I am afraid I am not the only one playing Minion Taps, though it seems he combines them with 5th Traditions. Tom could not allow that combo to happen.
Hannigan Telepathic Misdirection at inferior
Timothy Crowley +4
TOM: It was just a discard rather than trying to draw another intercept card to block Anneke. The bleeds Iñaki was going to redirect to me were going to be a few, and I was not going to win or lose because of them.

TOM: Xavi set off at last. I was starting to think he wanted to bring out his 4 vampires at the same time.
IÑAKI: The Ventrue was beginning to play, and I had the the vague hope he could not develope his game much, since it was the deck I was most affraid of. I guess much like the Toreador deck, with the difference that I already knew this Ventruecon well, and did not know the Toreador.

Huitzilopochtli +4
IÑAKI: Well, it was time to punish my prey a little bit, so I played my first Hostile Takeover of the evening, with which Tom (with his large blood pool), dealt pretty well.
TOM: Argh! A Hostile Takeover on Muaziz! Revenge!. Fortunatelly, Iñaki did not have much pool (I think I had about 15 pool before the Hostile Takeover) and I just burned 4 pool.

TOM: The same as before. I played the Society of Leopold on Iñaki (leaving Democritus at 2 blood) so that he just worried about gaining some pool. TOM: Perhaps Xavi Bibiloni wanted me to keep putting pressure on David, and his prey not to oust me before Xavi ousted Iñaki, so via that Parity Shift and my Arcane Library, I ended up having as much pool as one turn ago.
XAVIER BIBILONI: Yes, yes, I took actions with Millicent Smith in play :-)
Gideon Fontaine +3; enters play
XAVIER BIBILONI: The reason is that I want Xavier Abad to be under more pressure.
IÑAKI: Well, it seems that this time he succeeded, and in exchange for taking a damn action to burn Anson's Seeds of Corruption, Xavi got David's political support. It also seemed that Tom, still hurt at my first hostile action, was in a terrible state, and that's why he was given some pool to keep alive. ;-)

Temptation of Greater Power Anneke; DAVID FRAILE -12p, OUSTED
Democritus hunts
IÑAKI: Since I could not have Democritus reach Golconda to be brought into play again (although he was not in my uncontrolled region yet), I chose to take control of Anneke, because I had 2 Temptation of Greater Power: one of which was for her; the other one could have been played via her to take control of a Ventrue in the case Democritus were burned, so that I could also play Hostile Takeovers, but David was blinded and killed himself according to the maxim: "either mine or nobody else's", and gave 1 victory point and 6 pool to my prey. Sigh!. When someone cannot see further than the end of his "Anneke" ... well...
DAVID FRAILE: I warned Iñaki I would die for Anneke before giving her away to him, since most of my strategy is based on a Justicar and Inner Circle (and I had none of those in my uncontrolled region).
XAVIER ABAD: I think that Iñaki did not take into account that David would be determined to keep control of Anneke at any expenses. This move was detrimental to me, because Tom got 6 more pool and became my predator.
TOM: That one was a key move, as well as a desperate one by Iñaki. He saw I could destroy Democritus in a single turn, and he needed to take control of a ready vampire. Since he could not play Golcondas on any of mine, and he was going to lose his only Justicar, he chose to take control of my prey's Justicar. David could not live without Anneke (his deck was also a Temptations of Greater Power deck) so David chose either leaving the game or letting Iñaki commit suicide by paying 13 de pool. Iñaki could have played the Temptation on Anson, who was more useful at a fist glance, but, since Anson had a Seeds of Corruption, he had no special ability :-)
XAVIER BIBILONI: I still don't understand that move. The good thing was that Tom had enough pool to stand up against Iñaki and that Xavier Abad would be under pressure.

TOM: Damn Xavi Abad!. He knew Xavi Bibiloni could block my purchase of permanents granting intercept, and kept a Direct Intervention in his hand and the one pool necessary to make the final duel "interesting".
IÑAKI: Since the Ventrue no longer had anyone left to deflect bleeds, Xavi Bibiloni had a horde as predator that would cause some problems. In my opinion, Xavi Abad did well by getting himself out of the way.

Surrenders.
TOM: Xavi Bibiloni and I started the turn arguing about the "deal" made some turns before. I understood that he wanted to be the second, but I misunderstood it and caused a situation that (analyzing it now) was very nasty. Obviously, I tried to indimidate him by telling hhim it was a deal and that, should he break it, "that would be his problem". So it seems I went too far and Xavi surrendered. That was really nasty. That is why I hate deals.
I must also say that Xavi have had some trouble during the third round, in which he was accused (I don't know if either fairly or unfairly), of having made an illegal deal. Discusions and deliberations made his morale sink. And my way of intimidating him during the final round (which, under normal conditions, would have made him laugh) had a sad effect on him. Well, Xavi, I owe you a final.
XAVIER BIBILONI: I surrendered because of a couple of reasons. According to most spectators, I said that when I ousted Iñaki, I would concede (something I never said). I had also reached the final after a controversy, and I was very tense. I don't want to get angry with fellow players because of a fucking card game.
XAVIER ABAD: A very interesting game that proved that the player qualifing 5th for the final round has the same chances to win as the player qualifing 1st after sweeping 3 tables. See you next year!.
